I’ve always loved to read and write, and I was inspired to study journalism after I joined my high school’s newspaper staff. Following a college internship for The Marietta (Ohio) Times, I spent more than a decade working for The Dominion Post, the daily newspaper in Morgantown. As a reporter, I covered a variety of beats – including local government, crime, courts and higher education. I later worked as multimedia coordinator and assistant managing editor, a role in which I supervised the reporting staff and planned daily news coverage.

After leaving The Dominion Post, I spent nearly two years as a technical writer and editor for SSC-Deltha, a federal government contractor at the National Energy Technology Laboratory in Morgantown. I wrote news releases, feature stories, social media posts, scripts, remarks and more to highlight U.S. Department of Energy research focused on making fossil energy cleaner, more efficient and more affordable.

I now work for the WVU Foundation, where I write and edit strategic communications to boost private support for West Virginia University.

I also tackle freelance writing, editing and design projects. My goal is to help you effectively share your story through clear, concise communications that target the right audience. Making a connection is challenge that takes a special skillset honed through targeted training and years of experience reaching out to different audiences.
